I'm a newbie at this and Microstation, so please be gentle...

H-E-L-P! Our company has some problems with Microstation V8 XM

First problem, it's Display Mode:Hidden Line.
Typically, we 3D model our multi-story industrial building design in the model (3D-Plant.dgn)
- attach it to a floor plan drawing (10-G-001.dgn)
- create another 'design' model view
- change the Display Mode to Hidden Line (to make it 'look' like it's 2D)
- use reference clip to get the plan of the floor we need
- change the model view from 'design to sheet'
- attach a titleblock (Titleblock 36x24.dgn)
and this becomes our '2D' plotted floor plan.

The problem is when we change the display mode to hidden line, all of the wide lines and arrowheads become hollow (and fill is on).
Switching back to Smooth display or filled-hidden fills them in, but now the plan view doesn't look '2D' anymore.
Is there a way to do what we want to do???

Second problem, it's plotting.
After we set up the drawing like above, we try to plot it, and it takes at least 45 mins. It seems like the most time is spent on 'rendering'.
I see 'Generating "Hole #3" or 'Generating "Extrusion", etc. in the lower left of the screen, but the plot still takes forever.
Anyone have any ideas of how I can this speed up? I've used the default Windows driver and the Bentley driver for an HP5500 LJ printer.
I've even tried plotting to a PDF - same result...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
