I figured out how to record an animation of a walk through or fly by of my model but I can't get my background to come out right. All I get is a black background. Am I doing something wrong?

Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks!!

Hi ! I'm having the same problem with my single-shot renders. Any luck ?
Thanks-

No. Posted question on several CAD forums and no answer. I think everyone imports into Navisworks.

I did see one trick that I still need to test out. Some guy on YouTube made a dome over his model to simulate a sky. Change color to light blue and it will work. I want to import pic of sky to make a material and assign that to the dome to give me a real sky.

Yes. Background lets you set up a background just like going through the render panel but just renders it, doesn't record it.

Sounds like another "improvement".

AutoCAD replaced its VERY serviceable renderer with "Mental Ray". FABULOUS ray trace renderer, but they didn't duplicate the previous setup by setting the Mental Ray settings to match by default so results could be usable "out of the box" with just final tweaks for improvements, so its a bit of a challenge to adopt. The results CAN be STUNNING(!), but if they'd have augmented instead of replaced it would have been better for the user, but then fewer users would have put in the effort to master the "improvement", with the basic renderer being so useful.

If you DO get an answer to the background color thing, please post back here ! We'll be monitoring for results...

Good luck !
