3D wellbore mapping

I just started a workterm with a company for the summer and one of the tasks they have me working on is researching any and all possible programs and software for creating a 3D map of their wellbores.

They want something where they can put in their deviation data from previous drilling operations and have it render a 3D picture of their path as was drilled, (it would come out to look like a snake spiraling downwards). Has anyone ever heard of something that can do that? All of my searching has only shown me programs that link with equipment during the drilling operation.

That's a XL problem using a 3d chart plot routine. Google "Excel 3D plotting."

Try this one. I think I got it from NewtonExcelBach. Take a look at the plot sheet. If it can draw this bridge, I'm pretty sure it will do what you need, if only you can figure out how to do it.
