is it possible to weld two 316L plate (150*75*3 mm ech) (6*3*0.11 inch) without groove preparation.
Your thoughts on:
- Root spacing
- Diameter of filler metal
- Amperage limits to reduce formation
Is it optimal to do a V goove weld and root face and one Root pass and one Cap pass (this is what I suggested)
The company wants to cover qualification from 3 to 6 mm in according to ASME.
They also want it as a single pass with full penetration.
Gtaw 3G 316L Plate 100A / root spacing 2.4mm (0.1 inch) / 316L
filler metal diameter 2.4mm/ without Groove/ Argon 12L/min / Nitrogen protection
The result is disastrous
