Our company has been using SE for a few years now. Our setup was designed using the old SE viewer (view and markup) as a means of non-engineering folk to be able to view tooling prints. But ever since Siemens deprecated the SE viewer in favor of just offering the 2d environment for free, we have issues. Currently the old viewer still works, but i fear a file architectural change may cause it to cease functionality, similar to what happened with ST9 to ST10. The problem is basically the 2d environment allows users to edit dft files, and that is no good. Denying write permission isn't the easy fix i'd hoped as users could still save the edited copy locally and potentially release unofficial copies of the prints.
Searching the web has provided me no answers on a 3rd party program capable of reading solid edge drafts. So as a final hope i turn towards here. Does anybody know of a low cost, hopefully free CAD viewer capable of reading Solid Edge dft files?
