I'm looking for information regarding maintenance and operation costs of motor-generator (MG) sets and solid state frequency converters (SSFC).

1. How often do I need to do maintenance on MG and SSFC?
2. How much will it cost?

Is there a ballpark number I can use in a lifecycle cost worksheet to present to an energy manager?

Do not expect any precision in the answers you get if you don't specify better than what you did.

A rotary set needs inspection (vibration monitoring and regreasing) at least a couple of times each year. If the unit is important, you may need to do it more often.

A solid state frequency inverter does not need any maintenance as such.
If there are fans, you need to change the fan regularly. Normal running time is a couple of years.
If the unit is water cooled, you will need to look at filters, pumps, conductivity etcetera. How often? Depends on what the manufactorer says.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.
