Is post heating mandatory to be done on 4130 material. We are required to meet hardness of 250 Hv10 and every weld would be subjected to PWHT. Thickness range - 0344" - 1.88". Weld consumable - ER100S-G, E101T1-GH4.
If yes then at what temperature and how much time.

To meet the hardness requirement PWHT would be necessary on material 1/2" or greater in thickness. You would find this out when you qualify a WPS with hardness testing.

The PWHT temperature would be 50 deg F below the original tempering temperature of the 4130 if it was supplied as Q&T or N & T.

Time is 1 hour per inch of weld deposit thickness.

I meant preheat maintenance after completion of welding before PWHT

There is no preheat maintenance after welding is completed. You cool and apply PWHT if required.

Thanks mentengr for the help.
