430 Stainless Dimensional Change after Stress Relieving

Hello Folks!

We recently ground several 430 stainless steel stamped domes, ~ 1.75 inches in diameter and 1/8th inch thick with a .1 inch rise in the center. They were then sent to the vendor who deburred them using a vibratory bowl with steel media. We now see the diameter has increased by several thousandths and the height at center decreased by several thousandths as well. My questions are:

Is this the expected change to be seen during this process?

Is there any way to estimate the change that may be seen during the vibratory process?

If the parts were stress relieved before grinding and deburred in a different manner would the dimensional stability remain?

Thanks much folks, this is a new one to me.

I don't think he stressed relieved your parts rather he Peened Formed them a little.

I haven't seen this in vibratory finishers but have seen this several times in a tumbler using steel shot. We stay away from steel shot in our mechanical cleaning systems for this reason.
