Hi, does anyone have first-hand experience welding 441 thin wall tube - 46mm OD ~1mm wall thickness.

What welding technique is best suited, is filler rod used? If so what?
Is argon purging - pressurising the internals of the pipes - required?

This material is used in the auto industry for exhausts - am using it for heat exchanger - low pressure - water / exhaust gas.
Thanks for any advice.

Thanks metengr,
That seems to be good advice. I spoke to the steel mill that makes this material and they offer the same advice.
