61010 and 60204

Hi all

I am very new to product compliance and was wondering if somebody could make it clear for me.... ok here goes.... Do we use both 61010 and 60204 for CE. Do we have to use both? Might sound stupid.

61010 is for laboratory testing equipment. 60204 is for electrical equipment of machinery. You have to use whichever standards apply to the particular situation that you are dealing with, and that could be neither, one or the other, or both.

If you haven't read the introduction and scope at the beginning of each of those standards, which explains the circumstances in which each one of them applies, you need to do that.
