about a year ago, we set-up a new computer with NX5 on a 64bit, and the operator had nothing but trouble with toolbar set-ups and all sorts of things, had to keep uninstalling ,plm couldn't seem to advise the root of the problem.
Is this common, or is it something that's been fixed.
We've just had new workstations (different company) and they've got windows 7 64bit, i don't want to go thru all that hassle, i'd rather get 32bit XP (NX6)

We're going to have to go 64 bit sooner or later without too much doubt. We had the same problem earlier on with all kinds of drivers and software implementations poorly supported. Not to mention that Vista was a Windows release that most people skipped and XP64 was to some extent obsolescent before many of the later 64 bit systems and peripherals were released so like you everyone's hoping that Windows 7 will deliver the goods relatively seamlessly. People running later versions of NX haven't been having problems with it from what I've seen thus far. Like you I'm stuck on XP/32 on at least one machine until I can be bothered to upgrade, and it still works okay.

As for your mention of NX-6 and NX-7 they both run just fine on XP/32 it is just that you're clearly not going to get the best out of newer technology until you bite the bullet and upgrade your OS.

we have 300 top spec machines here running TC and NX4, they are all 64 bit machines. We don't have any more than the usual fatal errors everyone seems to get with NX4 however what is really poor is that some of NX's modules are not supported on 64bit. E.g. NX Human modelling. we bought a license (nearly £6k) only to be told by the system that this module is not supported on 64 bit platforms!!!! Other than that though it's all good. To be honest though computing power is far out pacing the softwares ability to utilise all the avaiable processing speed.
