I'm handicapped when it comes to working with electronics. I know what most of the basic components look like and what they do, but don't know how to design a rotary phase converter for a working 7.5hp 3 phase motor which I got free from work. I've looked on the internet for a design and found one for a 3hp 3 phase motor with relay which automatically cuts out the startup capacitor. But, the designer says I'll have to upgrade the components. My question is "What are the upgrade component values?" Following is his list of 3hp components:
1 start capacitor------220-250VAC 216-259uFD
2 run capacitors-----370VAC 45uFD
1 3 amp fuse
1 24VAC indicator light
1 start capacitor in/out indicator light
3 3phase power online indicator lights
1 3phase 3hp, 1745rpm, 1.15SF, 200-208VACmotor used as idler
(mine is 3ph 7.5hp, 3250rpm, 230/460VAC motor)
1 main power relay 30 amp DPDT w/24VAC coil(Grainger 5X846E)
1 potential relay continuous coil voltage 332,
pick-up min 168 max 182, drop-out max 90 (Mars 65 or
Grainger 6X550)
1 SPST on/off switch (Carling switch 2X464)
1 transformer 115VAC Primary 24VAC secondary
1 15Kohm, 2 watt resistor

Any help will be appreciated.

You can also go over to Ronk and get an Add-A-Phase or a rotary phase converter. Either will work for 1 motor. You will have to buy through a local dealer but they can provide with the name of their local dealer.
