Hello guys,

i have GAS line(34 bar) with ball valve 8". it is passing and need your support in how to rectify this valve safely.

Suction valve is isolate
discharge is isolated
check valve is existing in discharge side.

main equipment in line is Compressor very costly.
The pipe is showing 15 bar in above situation. after venting the line, about 3 hours same reading is showing ( 15 bar)
Manually i open and closed the valve to make sure it is fully closed.
i am about to rotate the valve 180 degree but this is very risky it maybe damage the seat and heavy passing will happen and damage the compressor
To dismantle these valve i need black out for our power plant ( 3500 MB) which is not good way to do at all.

Please share your strategy

A single ball valve can easily pass.

Some details of the valve required, sectional drawing, type of seats etc.

Some valves allow you to inject grease or sealant into the seats. Does yours?

If you have a body vent in the valve you might be able to fit a vent pipe and vent the leakage to atmosphere/ safe area?

I don't understand why you want the valve to seal or why this would damage the compressor??

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
