In previous LEED EAc1 energy models, I have used receptacle and process loads with the same values for proposed and baseline buildings. This does not easily allow or encourage process energy saving. I am starting work on a model with a refrigerated warehouse. The power consumption of freezer / coolers is sizable compared to the office. The owners request is gold certification. What steps have others undertaken to take credit for improvements in the refrigeration system to help with an improvement with the model?

Project will work to V3. I have not used an exceptional calculation method as under 2007 G2.5. I will need to lower the process power in the proposed building. The freezers and coolers will exceed 25% of the baseline energy cost. Can I use conventional condensing units and evaporators with electric defrost for freezers & coolers under the baseline? Then use a parallel rack design with hot gas defrost as the proposed? But how do I show the math in a calculation? How do I determine the EER of baseline process loads?
