Hi

I am trying to design a flange to connect a 900mm steel pipe to a 1000mm OD polyethylene pipe. The flanges will be Aus Std 2129 Table C (or E).

We have space restrictions, so a 1000mm flange and reducer won't fit.

I intend to drill out a plate with 1000 mm bolting pattern to suit the 900 mm pipe and weld it to the 900mm pipe as if it were a slip on flange.

My question is, how do I check what thickness of flange is required? Internal pressure is 630kPa.

Thanks

DJ

You can free download evaluation edition of a program for design and rate pressure vessels and pressure vessel’s components (you have a trial period of 1 month):

You can rate any flange dimensions, including any custom flange you design.
Go into: "Flange Design" and select the desired type of flange.
