Either my next door neighbor and my Z-28. Hate to keep people in the dark when it comes to my posts. If you don't understand Ask.

Interesting, unclesyd. Would love to see some spec's. on resolution, focus distances, etc.

unclesyd...great concept. I liked your comment on microscopy....I always have an issue focusing in photomicrography. Some of it has to do with depth of field (very shallow in microscopy) but some has to do with movement during shutter release.

Here is the Lytro web site. There are no specifications at present bu quit a number of photographs that allow you to click on any area in the image to bring that area into focus.

Ron,
I cal vision many uses for the camera in all types of micro and macro photography. Hopefully they will publish some specs shortly, along with a price range.

"a microlens array"

This sounds like the kind of thing some insects have evolved.

...insects...

Steve, that connection is a thought-provoking observation.

If the above is true about the insect eye we now have the eye of gnat, all we have to do is develop the hair of the frog.

More information/speculation should be showing up very shortly in the Photography Magazines.

It looks like a natural for Playboy Magazine since they shoot 2000-3000 shots for one layout.

What's the point of taking crystal-clear photos when our aging eyes can't really focus anyhow?
