During self-training, I was trying to find a function that allows to create the following type of volume:

The aim is to create a volume feature or visualize the space that is created by an extrusion or revolution but takes into account the parts that are clashing with it. External surfaces or volumes that are encountered by the operation shall be subtracted from the result as well as the space behind the elements in the direction of creation.

As an example: The representation of the rays of light from a point source encountering solid elements (figure attached).

The purpose of this operation shall be the analysis of fields of view and be usable in the assembly environment /workbench.

Is there knowledge about this function or a similar one that I did not see?

The reason for not seeing a function like this is CATIA has specific tools or third party addons (dependent on the requirements) for FOV. In CATIA the Human builder workbenches can provide you with what can be seen. I suspect that DELMIA has some enhanced capabilites in this area but I don't know for certain. If you need more then there are products from vendors like Transcat CAVA and Optis Speos that do more complex FOV calculations. There is nothing in the base CATIA products as it is a specialised function.

If your need is only to see, then you can create a CAMERA View (Cheaper than HBR licence)

Go to View / Named Views , then create a new view/camera.

You can edit the parameter to change to perspective mode and define the focale length...

You can go to Windows and get the window of the camera view. Sorry no 2D projection but you can make screen grab.

You can also with "real time rendering" licence create a light and cast shadows:
