Dear all,
I am performing a nonlinear analysis of polymer hydrogel material using ANSYS software 6.1 on UNIX. My model is the follows: a polymer layer is confined between two plates within a closed volume. The upper plate is very flexible and the lower one is a rigid mesh. When this model is immersed in the solution (e.g. water), there is a fluency flowing through holes of the mesh into polymer layer making it swollen (isotropic), consequently causing the deflection of the upper plate. This work is to calculate the stress and strain of polymer hydrogel material due to swelling process and of the upper plate, as well. I don't know which available theoretical basis of ANSYS (Equation and Load of nonlinear materials) should be used for this case. Generally, my knowledge of ANSYS is very poor. Can anyone tell me how to perform this nonlinear analysis using? any reference is also much appreciated.
Thank you beforehand,
Regards
