I have a grid on a horizontal plane which I try to project onto a surface above it. When I do this the grid is projected correctly as a set of curves. However the intersecting points vanish. And I can not grab the intersection points anymore.

Anything I should set up?

Is this in Civil 3D or what software? In Civil 3D you could make the grid lines into Feature Lines, and drape them on your surface. They would be more like 3D poly lines, so straight 3D line segments, rather than the curves you previously indicated, but would have a common point where they cross that you can snap to.

Thanks Pinwards

This is autocad 2015. I ended up doing what you suggested: Created polygonal shapes to define my grid and projected them onto the surface so as to have common points.
