Hello awsome members of the forum,

I am a new member, this is my first participation,

I will be assigned soon to an oil and gas treatement facility and I would like to know if there's some blogs/webpages that may enable me to get an insight on the real world problems, for it seems very different from college stuff, isn't it ?

Also I will appreciate if the guys from the oil and gas share their advices !

thanks a lot.

If you use "search" feature in Eng-Tips and ChE Forums you can find some great discussions. Sometimes it feels like you are actually looking at the plant/facility problem yourself.

Chatting with old Norm Lieberman is priceless.

I have never been in Oil and Gas, but as a young Process Engineer many years ago, I would go to the company's Engineering library once a month to peruse the periodicals for articles that might benefit me. I recall getting many excellent articles from Hydrocarbon Processing and the Oil and Gas Journal.

Good luck,

Technically, the glass is always full - 1/2 air and 1/2 water.

As a young process engineer I often learned more from the advertisements in the trade magazines than from the articles. Every product is designed to solve a problem in the "best" way. Spending the time to understand what the product is, how it works, and why it is better than alternate solutions, is valuable knowledge that you will put to use later. For the young engineer it is valuable to learn what real world issues are important although they may seem trivial at first.
