Hello,
I have seen a couple of post about this topic. Instead of starting another theoretical discussion, I want to start something.
Here is the question. Please accept the Skempton - Bjerrum factor as 0.7 and use 2:1 stress distribution. Ignore creep behavior.
I will just reveal what I want to learn. What do you do PRACTICALLY to calculate settlement of a clay below and above water table? I know you have all theories that will take pages to discuss, and I have read some of your posts about this topic, but I want to see what do you do in a simple question like this.
If you can, please give the answer as
Total Settlement:
Total Settlement will be observed at t=0:
Regards.
