A simple (stupid?) question about pressure and compression in Abaqus 1

I am trying to understand how this works through modelling - I have modelled two plates, top plate is of steel while the bottom is concrete. I apply 1000 Pa (no gravity), and want to find the compressive/tensile stress this causes in the steel plate. Max compressive stress comes out to be -2.481E02 - why doesn't it come out to be -1000? I also checked contact stress, should this not also be 1000 Pa instead of 5.988E02?

Recommended for you

Check the documentation chapter "Contact formulations in Abaqus/Standard" (paragraph "Choosing a contact discretization", Figure 4 and its description). You will find there a very similar example with discussion of results and explanation when they can differ from analytical values.
 
Do you know if there is a way for me to get that models input file? I am doing surface to surface with a fine mesh but I still get an error of around 30%.
 
Unfortunately it’s not one of these examples for which input files are provided. Make sure that slave surface has more refined mesh than master.
 
I ran this dynamically with an instantaneous load application. So essentially modeled an impact so natural frequency responses, inertia and so on are all factors. I ran this statically and that gave more accurate results. I tried dynamic, implicit with quasi-static load application aswell and that also gave more accurate results - I was wondering what would be the difference between running it statically and with quasi-static load application?
