Probably going to depend on your Code of Construction (if any) and perhaps contractural requirements (if any).

No, but A 106 can be used. A 105 is a specification for forged piping components and not piping itself;

Just to clarify, are you asking about the material for the pipe itself, or the forged fittings?

A105 & A694 are both forging material. A105 is CS forgings, A694 is carbon and alloy steel forgings.
A106 is for seamless CS pipe.

Either way, you'll have to check the code to see what is allowed. Is this question just out of curiosity or is there a reason you're trying to replace A694 with A105?

Yes you can use A-1 in pipeline construction per B31.8. Whether it is acceptable for use on production pipe (like API 5LX-XX) is another story - may be, may be not.

I believe that you are talking about flanges, low carbon steel, both standards, A105 and A694, are very different in the chemical and mechanical requirements,
