I have come across p/t charts indicating different p/t ratings for F316 and F316L (720 psi and 600psi up to 100 F) what specification governs these ratings?
When a flange is supplied with the dual grade of 316/316L which pressure rating would apply?
Are there any p/t charts indicating p/t ratings for flanges that are dual grade, showing a column within the chart indicating dual grade 316/316L?
Or where would one find documentation indicating which pressure to use with a flange with dual grade markings?

Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated, details would be great.

Thanks

For dual grade material, see paragraph 2.9.

For dual-certified material, you get "the best of both worlds". You get the weldability of the 'L'-low carbon grade, and the strength of 316(plain).

Choose your Weld Procedures based on the 'L' rating. Calculate strength-at-temperature using the 316(plain) p/t chart.

Also, per ASTM A182 18.1.4: "Parts meeting all requirements for more than one class or grade may be marked with more than one class or grade designation....."
