A516 Gr. 70 N + NACE

Dear Tank Builders,


SA 516 Gr. 70 N is included in P no. 1 Group No. 2 according to ASME Section IX.

In API 650 this material is included in Group V.

Now the tank designer specified A516 Gr. 70 N + NACE.

Since there is NACE additional specs. in this material, could we classified the same ? I mean still within P 1 Gr. 2 and API 650 Group V.

The requirements of NACE MR0175 will not alter the API or ASME grouping. You might want to ask the 'tank designer' what exactly they mean by "A516 Gr. 70 + NACE" because it does not explicitly state the actual requirements.
