Hi every one! Does anyone know about A64-42 steel? Because I have some drafts in which this steel is mentioned for a bridge. ASTM doesn't have any standard about this type of steel

ASTM A 64 Methods for Chemical Analysis of Steel, Cast Iron, Open-Hearth Iron, and Wrought Iron was withdrawn in 1937, and replaced with ASTM E 30 Test Methods for Chemical Analysis of Steel, Cast Iron, Open-Hearth Iron, and Wrought Iron, which was withdrawn in 1997 with no replacement.

You may be able to get a historical copy of ASTM A 64 - check with ASTM ( maybe Global ( or ???

I believe that ASTM A64 is not the correct specification for bridge steel anyway. This is for chemical analysis methods, as mentioned above by CoryPad. Most of the older bridge steels were supplied from plate specifications; ASTM A7 or ASTM A30,A113,A131,A201
