Abaqus 2019

Dear All

I have just been through the release notes of Abaqus 2019 and for me, it is one of the most disappointing releases of Abaqus. After a year of development, there is nothing in this release in terms of real enhancements. Seems like Abaqus development has hit a dead end. Would like to know your comments.

You have do be aware, that contrary to the past the enhancements are not released with the new GA version alone anymore. For a fair comparison of the amount of new and/or enhanced features you have to look at all releases throughout a year. So what came with the all the Fixpacks for R2018 until R2019 GA. If you collect these lists, then the sum of new stuff is not smaller than in the past. The new release method even allows user to get new features earlier, since they don't have to wait always a year for new stuff, even when development is finished earlier.
