Hello!
I would like a bit of benchmark calculations if annyone has answear
On my job where i have abaqus i have this PC:
intel i7 930 4cores 4 threads (2.7ghz)
12GB ddr3 ram
quadro 3800
at home i have
i5 4440 4 cores (3ghz)
16GB ddr3 ram
gtx 970
i tried the integrated pipe stress in abaqus and at 4 cores at work it finishes in 3.4 minutes and at home it finnishes in 2.3minutes
the next step was to try and use my graphic card for calculations as the quadro has 192 cuda cores and my gtx has just over 1600 cuda cores but i couldnt get the gpgpu to work (its greyed out) it could be a problem with burrowed license but i was wondering if its possible that the card is not supported, on nvidia site it says that gtx series is supported for cuda calculations i have all the latest drivers installed and the cuda toolkit and running the latest verzion of abaqus
and to add to myquestion i was thinking if its worth it to use 2x gtx 970 (600 dollars) for calculations as that is about 3200 cuda cores together while quadro 6000 has roughly the same amount and costs 5k dollars i know compared to eachother its no competition but for smaller calculations this should be more efficient if it works
thanks for help in advance and sorry for my grammar mistakes.
