Hi everyone, I have a problem with contact setting in ABAQUS.
It's a project about a ball hitting a bat.
Normally the ball should bounce back after hitting the ball.
But in my model, the ball just keep going straight forward and even make the bat deform. (As the picture shown below)
Maybe I got wrong in contact setting or something, but I don't know where to fix it.
Can someone help me figure out?
Appreciate it!

Most likely the problem is not caused by contact definition. What are the initial and boundary conditions applied in this model ?

Thanks for your reply.

For boundary condition, I set bat grip as fixed, and give the ball a velocity at "Ball hit bat" step. (as figure show below)
Is it necessary to set another step to make the ball rebound ?

You should apply initial velocity (predefined field) to the ball instead of velocity boundary condition.
