hey guys,

am new in Abaqus and going just to simulate 3 different materials (Aluminium, Gold Zink, Titan) connecting together totally fix, and cool the hole material down in 2 different ways:

first I tried to simulate it as a unique part, and partition this part to 3 faces. there I applied 3 material properties for each and all as one instance of course and done.

next I tried to define the problem, as 3 different parts, so 3 instances in assembly modulus, and made a tie contact between them easily without knowing so much about the tie contacts.

1) the first question is, is there any real difference at the end, how we define this problem? and if yes, which one is preferred here?

2) am I simulating a composite material now? Could we say, as soon as the number of materials are more than one, I have a composite? and if yes, is it correct to simulate it so easy like this or do I have to use the composite models in abaqus?

3) the material is going to have at the beginning, some degrees of temperature and going to be cooled down to some temperature. or wise wersa.
where do I have to give this BCs in abaqus? is it enough when i define it in load modulus?

4) do I have to define some amplitudes there to cool it down step by step?

Please help me to have a nice start in abaqus :)

Regards,
John
