With the use of the user-defined material subroutine (UMAT), I've implemented an implicit finite element code in ABAQUS/Standard aiming to describe the 3-dimensional mechanical behaviour of fibre-reinforced composite materials. At the moment I'm testing a simple model with one C3D8 element subjected to a tensile load on one of the faces. The subroutine is working fine, as the job completes successfully. However, when I try to see the results from the ODB file I get the following message:

“The selected Primary Variable is not available in the current frame for any elements in the current display group.”

I think that something might be wrong with the post-processing data, but as a fairly new subroutine user I'm not quite sure that this assumption is correct. I would appreciate some feedback on this matter.
