Hello all,

I am using abaqus on HPCC. The abaqus jobs always stop in the middle, and some files are lost. But I cannot find any error in the .dat file and .sta file. Also, I am sure that the run time has not exceeded the HPCC run time limit (48 hours). So what I am trying to do is to stop the job by myself and abckup all the files, then restart the job. I do not know if it works, and I do not think this is a good way although it may work. Have someone had this experience before? How did you solve it? Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Jingan

Excuse me, what is HPCC?

maybe you are running a high level model or so, but 48 h seems a lot to me.
I guess you can not make a simpler model right?
maybe just trying to run it with a super coarse mesh and check if the errors appear, and when checked, try it with better mesh?

sorry I cannot suggest you something in the way you would like.

IceBreakerSours,
Thank you. I tried some simpler models, and they worked fine. I noticed the first 48 hours was fine, but after that when I restarted the job, it would stop without error. Anyway, I will try more times and see if I can find something.

I am not entirely sure if I follow but is the licensing set-up okay? Have you managed to converge simple and bulky models on the cluster?

Also, how do you know there is no error? Which files did you check for messages?

And, are there any subroutines involved? Are there any loops in the code?

IceBreakerSours,

I checked the .dat file and .sta file, but both of them did not show any error. The license set up is ok, and also the simpler model works fine. I guess I will not use the complex models, just use the simpler ones. Thanks anyway.
