Abaqus/Explicit stops running after a number of increments

Hi,

I am running static analysis in Abaqus/Explicit. I am using a high loading rate to solve the problem and not using the mass scaling. The problem solves alright if there are less than about 36000 increments. In case more increments are required, the solution stops at 36000 increments while the job monitor keep showing the status as running. Also if I check windows task manager, Abaqus/Explicit is running but no further increment gets solved.

Any ideas?

Check to see if the ODB still grows in size. If any of the temporary files are being changed your job is still running it might be a limitation of CAE. I hope this helps.

the <job_name>.sta file should be updated every 2 minutes during an explicit analysis. it's a text file that you can open in notepad. this shows the same information that you see in the CAE job monitor. if the file is being updated, but CAE is not, then perhaps your CAE session is timing out for some reason. if the file is not changing, then there is a problem with your job.
