Hope you are doing well.

Recently i carried an analysis - For same loads and boundaries

First iteration with

*STEP, NAME = Step-1, NLGEOM = NO ,PERTURBATION

Second Iteration with

*STEP, NAME = Step-1, NLGEOM = NO
*STATIC
0.1 ,1.0 ,1.0000E-05,1.0

My analysis has only one step. Getting the same results for both . However analysis time for Perturbation is 1 hr and whereas for general static is 5 hrs.

I am not able to understand the difference between both - can you please help me with inputs on the same

Good explanation can be found in Abaqus documentation chapter "General and linear perturbation procedures". Main difference is that general static step can account for nonlinear effects. Apart from that, general static step uses previous step of the same type as base state while linear perturbation step utilizes previous general step for this purpose.
