Hi, I am running a model using static General step, where I need to find the strength of the non uniform C section under combined T section. C section is bolted to the top and it’s ends on the either sides are symmetric about Z-axis, when ever I try to run using displacement control analysis I get an error.
“Time increment required is less than the minimum specified
The analysis has been terminated due to previous errors. All output requests have been written for the last converged increment.
Abaqus/Standard Analysis exited with an error - Please see the message file for possible error messages if the file exists.”

Could someone please let me know what could be the issue

It’s a typical non-convergence error. It can have various reasons, usually contact but can be also due to complex material behavior or other severe nonlinearities. So it’s impossible to say what’s wrong without having the details about your model.

You are using rough friction for one contact interaction and high friction coefficient for the other. This can make it difficult to obtain convergence. Try using stabilization, dynamic implicit quasi-static step or, if everything else fails, explicit dynamics step.
