I need to model a beam with generalized profile from only the Inertia, Area and the Depth value.
The generalized beam on abaqus doesn't takes depth as input, and hence I am not sure how it computes the stress. I also tried with arbitrary profile, that didn't help either.
The reason I have only those values is because we large number of built-up section in our model.
We calculated their total inertia and total area, and need to model a equivalent beam with those section. But as the generalized profile doesn't take the depth, I am not sure how the abaqus will calculate the stresses at the top or bottom of the beam.
I will highly appreciate it you could help me with a way around this problem.
Please note that solid section is not an option. If there is a way that we could define a composite profile ( combination of multiple profile) and then later assign it to a line model, that will help eith
