Is it possible to access the ABAQUS license server through the internet? The computer, on which the license server is running, is in my office. Sometimes it would be very usefull to quickly run a small ABAQUS job on my computer at home.

Thanks for your answers!

It depends on the license set up. I run ABAQUS on a supercomputer which will only allocate licenses to a pc on a restricted subset of IP addresses. So in my case, no you can't

Even if it is technically possible, it would be technically illegal as it is outside the scope of the licensing agreement. Your company would have to speak with ABAQUS to come up with such an arrangement.

This is not unique to ABAQUS--this is common to most such codes (both processors and pre-processors). What you would be doing is referred to as a "WAN" (Wide Area Network); most software providers by default only license as a "LAN" (Local Area Network).

Thanks Brad, thanks Mikey for your answers. I'll have a talk with my local ABAQUS representative about this.
