Hi All

Newbie here. I have been tasked from a co-worker to finalize their FEA analysis (Dynamic, Explicit).

I am in need of applying an impact load to an already defined surface. The load in Newtons (1,500,000 N) is to be applied over an area of 17600mm^2 for 0.05s. Therefore when I create a load, shall this be under pressure? Than if so, shall the distribution be uniform? What will be the magnitude?

Furthermore, shall I apply a smooth step of T 0.0 - A 1 > T 0.05 - A 0?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Aimee

A load normal to a surface is pressure. If it is not normal on the surface, then you can use surface traction to define a direction. The magnitude should you know.

By default the value is equal/uniform on each point on the surface. If you want it unequal, define it with Tools -> Analytical Field.

Define a amplitude to scale the load with dependence to the time.
