I am performing a sequentially coupled thermal stress analysis on a concrete slab. I have the heat transfer portion done and am experiencing some convergence difficulties with the stress analysis portion. My question is, should I use a static or dynamic step when reading the heat transfer into the model? Currently I am using static, which seems to work fine in smaller models. Is this incorrect?
Thanks in advance!

Use static unless you have highly non-linear materials with contact and large deformation. In those cases an explicit analysis works better.
