Hi,

I have a file with stress values for a geometry where the stress tensor values are defined for all the coordinates(got this result using a different software than abaqus). I want to use sigini subroutine to apply these stresses as initial conditions to a new model in abaqus. But as I understood the subroutine calls the material points in the model which I have no control over. Therefore, the coordinates I get for the subroutine material points are different from what I have in the stress file. Would someone be able to please help me out? Thank you.

I don't think that SIGINI will work in this case, you will need something like Python scripting and/or built-in external field functionality, as discussed in the other thread.
