Hi,

Could someone tell me if there's a type of 3D element in abaqus, that only supports tension, but not compression, i.e., if the element is experiencing compression, the stiffness becomes zero? Thanks a lot!

There is a tension only option in abaqus. Try that.

Yes -- I see the material option has *no compression or *no tension options, but they are only available in Abaqus standard. Is there anyway to do such things in Explicit? THanks again!
