Abaqus Student Edition Installation Failure - Please Help!

Dear Concerned,

After extracting all the files from the 'SIMULIA_Abaqus_6.14_6.14-1_.Abaqus_6.14-2SE_win86_64.exe' file @

http://academy.3ds.com/software/simulia/abaqus-student-edition/,

the software crashed on many attempts instead of continuing to the 'Abaqus Product Installer' step as listed in the Installation guide. What happens visually is: as soon as the extraction finishes, there is a flash of a MS-DOS window (Please see attached screenshots below)- and nothing after that. It's as If I never started an Installation in the first place. I have a Windows 7, 32-bit personal HP laptop.

I have tried running with '-nosystemchecks', updating my java software, cleaning registry and directory files, disabling antiviruses and User Account Control, updating my graphics card, also tried running the setup in Safe Mode... but all to no avail. Also, I know a friend who installed this edition using the same link on their PC so I am quite sure this is something to do with my system and not the subject file.

Strange. You should be able to download another copy of student edition for free. Talk to Simulia.

Thanks for the response. I have already made a query with 3DS, but still haven't received a response. This is the only Student Edition copy they have on the website. As stated earlier, installation of the same file on another computer has been successful. I have tried alternate setup files from another source, for example for the 6.13 Student Edition and I ran into the same problem. Also, I have been racking through other forums and google etc. but haven't found a single similar case, so this seems to be a rather unique error... I still feel it is solvable though.
