Anyone have a good source to get Abaqus training? I would like to learn the software to be able to compair it against the Built in Catia solver to see if it is worth the investment for our company.

Abaqus offers many courses. The ones that I have taken are very good. They also sell their training manuals. The help files are also very good. Try to get an on site demo of some of your problems and get an evaluation copy. If you have specific questions regarding capabilities this forum is probably a good start after a quick google. I hope this helps.

Best thing to do is to do the tutorial int he help file. It's a simple beam that'll let you know the basic process. The example problems in the help file are excellent for finding the capabilities of abaqus.

There is no comparison between the CATIA solver and Abaqus. CATIA solver is very limited compared to Abaqus.

In fact, Dassault Systemes (owner of CATIA) purchased Abaqus some years ago.

I recommend you start with the "Getting Starting Manual" which includes a set of step-by-step tutorials and will give you an overview of the available features.
