Dear all,

I am a student at the University of Bristol working on my dissertation. The dissertation is following the NeT Residual Stress Project, and as part of this I am running an Abaqus simulation of a Plate Weld. The simulation has already been set up, but because of the size and complexity of the simulation, won't run on 1 CPU and crashes instead. I've gotten myself access to the university's Solid Mechanics Server (a VPN). However, I have absolutely no idea how to use it or any other VPN to run an Abaqus simulation. Both my supervisor and the IT services at the university have been thoroughly unhelpful and won't help me.

Would anyone be able to tell me how to use such a VPN?

I would really appreciate any help!!

Best regards,

Will

You need some sort of computing cluster. A VPN in and of itself doesn't have any computing capabilities.
