I am a non engineer - retired hobbyist and brand new to abaqus. I have created a 3D spaceframe using wires.
I created an 3D array of points (63 in total) then snapped the wires to the points.
I have succeeded in setting boundary conditions, loads, material properties & assigning them to chords and struts.
There are 96 chords & 96 struts = 192 members.
I have created a job but when submitted it aborts with the following error:-
"576 elements have missing property definitions - The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemMissing section"
In the Model Tree I have:-
Part
63 Datum points and
Wire-1 (I merged the original 192 disjointed wires)
Sets (2)
Set - 3
Set - 4 (I don't know what happened to 1 & 2 - probably lost during my learning curve)
If I click on either set the chords or struts are highlighted
If I click on the wire the whole truss (chords & struts) are highlighted
Section Assignments (2)
SHS50
SHS64
Materials (2)
My guess is I have duplicated all the elements during my endeavors to create my first abacus model. (192 * 3 = 576) and this is creating a conflict.
My questions are - can I repair the model by removing the duplicate elements? or should I
Start from scratch?
Advice on either or any other scenario would be appreciated.
