Dear All,

I am an university student studying civil engineering, currently having a project which is to investigate the strain hardening effect in a composite beam under sagging moment.
My task is to generate an ABAQUS model which is compatible to the experimental results obtained from previous literature.
The top concrete slab is tied to the lower steel I beam.
The two supports are roller and pinned respectively.
My loading method is to displace a loading pin ( which is at mid span ) downwards by a few hundred mm, and then check the Total Force on top of the surface of the concrete slab.
However, I cannot obtain the correct failure strain inside the concrete slab as mentioned in the literature ( 0.0045 ) and locate the correct failure point.
May I ask if my material properties have some problems? I just follow the graphs or figures given from the literature, but I am quite unsure about the materials to be inputted.
May I also ask if there is other problems other than the materials properties?

I have uploaded the literature, my excel file for the properties input and the abaqus file:
Literature : Materials: Abaqus File:
The following are the important information from the literature.

It is noted that the span for the composite beam is 5500mm and the last deflection graph is obtained from the literature (but not from my model)

Thank You
