I want to ask you about Wall Reheat. Could anyone explain me, what is Wall Reheat in boiler ? I have a duty to find failures in Wall Reheat. I never heard Wall Reheat before.

It is probably the reheat wall in the boiler.I have seen on CE boilers the reheat wall is separate and parallel to the waterwall for additional absorption of heat.

The description I was looking for is the reheat tangent wall.

Whoever gave you the "duty to find failures in Wall Reheat" should probably be the one with the obligation to educate you on exactly what it is that you are looking at and looking for. Expecting you to figure this out on your own, especially if you are "new in engineering" is a significant recipe for disaster.

To start with you need the layout of the boiler in question, so that you know the flow pattern and the design flow, temps, pressures and all of that. The trick is where does the steam come from, and where does it end up in this reheat circuit. By monitoring those points you can see if it is functioning correctly.

There is an abundance of references to boiler design and failures. First you should peruse the library of the National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessels on the subject matter as they write extensive articles via their National Board Bulletins on related failures. Your research may have to go back several decades. Since you are a "newbee" in this field, the Power magazine is a subscription that you need to get and of importance is their magazine titled Steam Generation which give you a better understanding about the design of steam generators of past and present. If you are lucky enough, you should also try to get a copy of the former NorthEast Utilities Service maintenance package that details every aspects of boilers design and their related maintenanced; I don't know the current company's name, however, their headquarters is ,I believe, in Meriden, Ct.. Another great area of research are the insurance companies that provide boilers and Pressure vessels insurance coverage such as Hartford Steam Boilers; who would know better about boiler failures.
