Absorption Type Refrigeration 1

What is the range of application of a conventional vapor compression refrigeration which cannot be served by an absorption type? My application is on room comfort cooling.

Hi,
For comfort cooling vapour absorbtion system can be used if you are getting some waste heat.
Lithium Bromide-Water system can be used upto a minium temperature of -5 deg C and Ammonia-water system can be used upto -30 deg C below this temperature heat ratio is very low and you need a very high temperature heat source.

Dear friend,
There is typo error in my above reply. Lithium Bromide-Water system can be used upto a minimum temperaure +5 deg C.Since in this this system water is acting as a refigerant and we cann't go for the negative temperatures.

Thanks KMPILLAI, Is it advisable to use vapor absorption system if we will use it only during office hours, say 10 hrs per day and shut it down after office hours?

First I would like to know what is the source of the heat energy available for the absorption refrigeration and what is the capacity of refrigeration system required.

The vapor absorption system has its own diesel fired burner. The capacity of refrigeration is 300 tons.
