In specifying an alternator (2000 kVA) why would I need to consider the core length?
I am being given four choices F,G,H & J for the same voltage and kVA rating.

What might be implied in this question by the OEM is...
What output factor do you require?
This is an older way of tying together
1. KVA/KW
2. length of core
3. RPM
4. diameter of the core

Sounds to me that desired "footprint" is also an implied condition!

apart from the physical properties I was trying to understand the operational benefits of specifying a longer core lenth for the same voltage and rating.
