Has anyone ever heard of integrating an AC Contactor inside of a motor controller? We currently use a panel mounted AC Contactor to supply power to our motor drive amplifier. If possible, we would like to integrate this contactor into the controller. However, the current panel mount version is too big. We need to be able to handle 3 phase 120 @30A.
I don't think that such a device is available given the mechanical requirements to break 30A. I have considered SS contactors, but am not sure if that meets the UL requirment for safety.
Any suggestions? Also, would anyone have any idea about the effect of having a big magnetic field (generated from the contactor)inside of a motor drive amplifier?
Thanks
